Police Recruitment Scam: State Govt to Form SIT for Further Investigation

BENGALURU, March 15: The Karnataka cabinet has decided to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the police Sub-inspector recruitment scam.

Committee headed by retired Justice B. Veerappa has submitted a report on the police recruitment scam.

According to the report, 113 people including government employees, private individuals and middlemen are involved in the scam.

CID is investigating 17 cases. Some of them have not provided information before the commission. The cabinet has also agreed to the formation of the SIT in the light of the recommendation of the Commission that the information should be obtained from such persons through other investigations and the SIT should be formed to carry out further investigations into the wrongdoings.
