Strong Wind Causes Chairs, Tables Fly
HUBBALLI: Strong wind causes chairs, tables, and crockery of a canteen fly through the air near Hubli Airport on Thursday evening.
Heavy rains, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds continue to lash Hubballi city on Thursday evening also, uprooting trees.
1 person dead, 2 injured, 12 vehicles damaged, more than 70 trees were uprooted in Hubballi on Wednesday evening.
Officials say 21mm rainfall received in 28 minutes followed by a wind speed of 40 kmph.
A convoy vehicle of former CM Jagadish Shettar was damaged after a tree fell on it. The vehicle was parked outside his residence in Badami Nagar.
In another incident, a car was damaged at Golul road, after a tree fell on it. The roof of old Mahatma Gandhi market collapsed in heavy rains.
In some areas, several electric poles were uprooted.
