NEW DELHI, Mar 16: Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar led Election Commission of India announced the schedule of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the CEC announced the crucial details about the upcoming general elections. “The Lok Sabha election 2024 will be held in seven phases. The elections will start on April 19 and continue till June 1. The counting will be held on June 4. The seven phases will cover a total of 543 constituencies,” CEC Rajiv Kumar announced.
“The polls to elect the 18th Lok Sabha will see nearly 97 crore eligible voters exercise their franchise in over 10.5 lakh polling stations where 1.5 crore personnel, 55 lakh EVMS will be deputed,” CEC Rajiv Kumar added.
