Who Will Win The MP Seat of Dharwad? Count Down Begins for Counting

DHARWAD, June 4: The political fate of the 17 candidates who were in the fray in Lok Sabha elections from Dharwad constituency will be revealed today.

All eyes are on the counting centre at the University of Agricultural Sciences campus in Dharwad with the district election officials are all set for counting of votes cast in the Lok Sabha election from Dharwad constituency. As many as 432 officials will be engaged in the counting process.

Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu GRJ, who is the district returning officer said that the counting of votes will begin at 8 am and the results are expected to be out before 1 pm. Maximum of 20 rounds of counting will be held to ascertain the winner.

Joshi vs Asuti

Although there were 17 candidates in fray for the Dharwad Lok Sabha seat, it was a straight fight between sitting MP and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Youth Congress leader Vinod Asuti.

While Vinod Asuti is trying his luck to enter the national politics, BJP candidate Pralhad Joshi, is eyeing for the fifth consecutive term.

In the previous election, Joshi had won by a margin of over two lakh votes. Political analysts predict that the margin will be lesser this election, no matter who wins.

One has to wait till 1:00 pm on Tuesday to know who will become the MP from Dharwad constituency.
