Hubballi, March 05: Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil and Hubballi-Dharwad City Commissioner of Police Labhu Ram inaugurated the annual sports meet for 2020 organised by the Hubballi-Dharwad City Police Commissionerate.
Patil, who spoke on the occasion, said that sports should become an important, indispensable part of life. “Police Department is known for its discipline. It has displayed its capacity during the lockdown and when there was an increase in Covid-19 cases. The Department staff were appreciated by one and all,” the deputy commissioner said.
“In comparison to other government jobs, the Police Department handles a lot more work in a lesser time period. For this, it is necessary for the police to pay due attention to their health. If the people who maintain discipline also live a healthy life, it will benefit society greatly,” Patil pointed out.
Commissioner Labhu Ram concurred that maintaining physical health is extremely important for achieving heights in professional and personal fronts. Police staff, therefore, should pay due attention to their physical well-being, he advised.
“Take time from the daily, possibly heavy work schedule to engage yourselves in sports. Make it a part of your life by compulsorily participating in sports activities,” he added.
Six teams are participating in the three-day tournament. The march past held by each team was appreciated by the authorities.
