KSCA Likely To Hold KPL Matches This Year

Hubballi, March 04: Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) plans to restart the Karnataka Premier League Twenty20 matches soon, KSCA secretary Santhosh Menon has said.

The KPL Twenty20 series had been halted on account of the Covid-19 wave in 2020.

Menon, who was addressing a press meet at the Rajnagar grounds in the city on Wednesday, said that the 2020-21 has just begun, after Covid-19. “The next season, 2021-22 is awaited. Our timetable should be coordinated with the Under-16 and Under-19 tournaments organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). But the timetable for the 14th round of the IPL is yet to be decided. Considering such matters and the opportunities available to us, we will organise the KPL matches,” he explained.

The secretary also said that the investigation related to the betting and match-fixing cases of 2019 is still on. The KSCA is cooperating with the investigation agencies, he added.
