BELAGAVI: Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in Belagavi on Saturday after Sangolli Rayanna’s statue was vandalized and stones pelted at government vehicles.
Belagavi police commissionerate has imposed the prohibitory orders from 8am on December 18 to 6 pm on December 19 in the entire Belagavi taluk.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, “Incidents like stone pelting, causing damage to public property and government vehicles is illegal, so police have been directed to take long term measures, so that such incidents don’t recur.”
