Reliance Insurance Office Raided In Hubballi

Hubballi, February 24: The Reliance Insurance office was raided by officers under order of court for failing to release insurance money to an accident injured.

Lakshman Basappa Hallikeri alias Talavara of Halakusgal village in Navalgund taluk had been hit by a lorry near the mental hospital in Dharwad. A seriously injured Hallikeri was under treatment in a hospital for four months.

The family members, who filed a case, got into an agreement with the lorry driver and Reliance for the insurance. The court, therefore, ordered that Hallikeri be paid an insurance money up to Rs 11.13 lakh with 9% insurance since the day of the accident.

The company failed to give the money and Hallikeri approached the court again.

The company office was raided on Wednesday as ordered by the court. The staff at the office were told to clear the area during the checking.
