NH Konareddy Resigns After Party’s Poor Show In HDMC Polls

HUBBALLI: Former MLA of Navalgund constituency and JD(S) National General Secretary NH Konareddy Tuesday resigned from his post attributing the party’s poor show in the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation elections.

Addressing a press conference in the city, he said, “The JDS candidates had a lot of perseverance. We were confident of winning at least 10 seats. However, I am disappointed by the party’s recent performance. Subsequently, I am tendering my resignation from the post of JDS National General Secretary citing moral grounds,” Konareddy said.

“Our party’s candidate Laxmi Hindasgeri of the 25th Ward has won. Three other candidates have come in second and third position, losing by a few votes,” he added.

“We have no role to play in finalizing a mayor for HDMC. However, our party is decisive in the Kalburgi Munipal Corporation. Our leader Kumaraswamy will take the appropriate decision,” Konareddy hoped.
