Hubballi, March 04: The 5th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to seven years’ imprisonment and Rs 1 lakh fine for attempting to kill his former employer.
Isab Muniget of Chalukya Nagar on Gadag Road was working as painter with Shekhar Babu Asadi in Brindavan Colony, but was fired for irregular work. An upset Muniget tried to kill Shekhar Babu on January 4, 2018, by stabbing him in the stomach.
Keshwapur police had registered a case.
District and Sessions judge K S Gangadhar, who heard the case, passed the judgment. He added that the victim of the attack should be given Rs 85,000 out of the fine amount as compensation. The rest of the amount would be paid to the district legal assistance committee.
Sumithra Anchatageri was the public prosecutor.
