KIMS Denies Treatment To Boy Attacked By Street Dog: Allegation

Hubballi, March 04: It has been alleged that KIMS Hospital staff disappointed and upset the citizens of Hubballi on Wednesday by showing disinterest in treating a boy who was attacked by a street dog.

Three-and-a-half year old Vivek, living in Ganeshpet, was playing outside his house when the dog attacked and ripped off his nose.

According to a report, Vivek’s parents took him to KIMS Hospital for treatment, but the staff said there were no doctors then. When requested to give the boy first aid at least, the staff refused. Next, the staff put down a request for an ambulance to take the boy to another hospital.

The frustrated parents took Vivek to a private hospital in an auto rickshaw. The doctors at the hospital operated on the boy for four hours.

The treatment charges on the first day added up to Rs 60,000.

“I was forced to take my son to a private hospital since the KIMS Hospital staff shut their doors to us. How do we clear the bill at the private hospital is a question for us as we are not financially well off,” said Vivek’s father,Vitthal Dange.

He has also requested help from the people.
