Hubballi, March 01: Members of Hubballi Lawyers’ Association and Karnataka State Young Lawyers’ Association held a protest against the murder of lawyer Taralli Venkatesh on the Hospet court premises.
In a press release, the protesting lawyers said the act was all the more heinous as it was on court premises. The police should immediately arrest the guilty. There are continued and regular instances of attack on and murder of lawyers. Neither the lawyers themselves nor their families have any sort of protection, they pointed out.
The lawyers urged the government to immediately enforce an act to give protection to lawyers.
Bar Association president Ashok Baligar, general secretary Guru F Hiremath, Karnataka State Young Lawyers’ Association member Ashok Anavekar put across the demands of the lawyers.
