Hubballi Airport Gets Rs. 275 Crore for Expansion

HUBBALLI, July 05: The Union Government has released Rs. 275 crore for the expansion of the Hubballi Airport Terminal and the funds will help in the upgradation of the airport, said Union Minister Prahlad Joshi.

 

The union minister, in a press release, has said that he had written to Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia seeking additional funds for various works, including expansion of the runway and the apron and improvement of cargo maintenance.

 

As per the new project, the terminal of the Hubballi Airport will be expanded to 20,000 sq m to accommodate 1,400 passengers at a time. It is expected that the number of passengers would increase due to the establishment of IIIT and IIT in Dharwad.
