HUBBALLI, Aug 19: Police opened fire on the leg of a rowdy sheeter when he allegedly tried to attack cops and tried to escape.
The injured has been identified as Aftab Karadigudd.
A gang war reportedly took place in Hubballi on Sunday night in the limits of Kasabapet police station. In which, Aftab attacked Zahoor near Byahatti Plot in Old Hubballi.
When a team of Kasabapet police went to arrest Aftab, he reportedly attacked police and tried to escape.
The Kasabapet police fired at Aftab’s leg and took him into their custody. He is being treated at KMC.
According to Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner N Shashikumar, police officials Raju Rathod, Palayya, and Hazrat Rampur sustained minor injuries while arresting Aftab.
