HUBBALLI, Aug 02: The city wake up to another firing sound on Friday as Sub-urban police inspector opened fire at a notorious robber near MTS Colony in Hubballi.
The police had arrested one Arun, an accused who extorted a chain, ring, mobile phone and cash near Channamma Circle a few days ago.
During interrogation, Arun informed the police about the involvement of more individuals in the case. The accused took the police to MTS colony saying that he would provide information about two more men.
In a bid to escape from police, Arun tried to divert their attention and flee from the spot. Immediately, inspector MS Hugar shot in Arun’s leg and injured him.
The injured accused and the cop has been shifted to KIMS for the treatment.
