Belagavi, June 4: District election officer Divya Prabhu briefed the media persons about the counting status at Dharwad Media Centre.
BJP candidate Jagadish Shettar is leading with around 36,863 votes. So far he has secured 1,34,311 while Mrinal Hebbalkar of Congress has bagged 97,448 votes.
Among the top performing independent candidate, Mahadev Patil has garnered 1,281 votes Basappa Kumbar 979 votes, and Ashok Appugol 742 votes.
1248 voters have given their votes to NOTA so far.
