ATM Cash Van Driver Makes Away With Rs 65L

The driver of a van carrying cash to be deposited in an ATM in Subramanya Nagar escaped with the vehicle on Tuesday evening.

DCP Dharmendra Kumar Meena has said that the driver was sent to deposit the money in an ATM of Axis Bank around 7 pm on Tuesday. The van contained Rs 65 lakh, the officer added.

Following a contract with Secure Valley company to deposit the money in the Subramanya Nagar ATM, a gunman and other officers who were sent in the van, went to the ATM to deposit the money. The driver, meanwhile, made away with the van, which still had Rs 65 lakh cash.

The police are hunting for the driver, said the officer.
