Ambulance Driver Tries To Rape Covid Patient In Govt Hospital, Arrested

The driver of an ambulance tried to rape a Covid-19 patient at a government hospital in Kalaburagi, North Karnataka, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, according to media reports.

The driver attached to a private ambulance entered the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), where the patient has been undergoing treatment, and allegedly forced himself upon her around midnight. The woman, however, screamed so loud that it drew other patients and hospital staff, forcing the suspect to flee. Brahmapur police in Kalaburagi later tracked down the suspect, the reports say.

The suspect has been identified as Pintu. Further investigations are under way.
