HUBBALLI, JANUARY23: The bodies of two of the three youngsters who drowned in the Malaprabha canal below the Kiresur bridge were found early Saturday.
The three youths, Sunny Johnson Kallaguntla, Josh Clement and Gajanan Rajashekhar, along with their friends Natasha Bhandari and Solomon Pillai, had gone near the bridge for a photo shoot, when they were attacked by honey bees. In an attempt to escape the bees, the five jumped into the water.
Two of them, Natasha and Solomon, were immediately rescued by shepherds who had been nearby. The other three youth were suspected to have drowned.
The police and fire brigade staff hunted all Friday night for the bodies. On Saturday morning, they found the bodies of Sunny Johnson Kallaguntla and Gajanan Rajashekhar near Basapur canal gate in Annigeri.
The search for the body of Raymond Clement is still on, said the police.
