BELGAVI, JANUARY 22: Indigo started a direct flight facility from Belagavi to Chennai on Thursday. This is the 11th city Belagavi is directly connected by flight.
Indigo has given direct flight services three days a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flights from Chennai will land in Belagavi at 10:25 am and depart back to Chennai at 10:50 am.
Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Belagavi airport director, lit a lamp and cut a cake as part of the inaugural of the new service. A water cannon salute was given to the first flight that arrived in Belagavi from Chennai on Thursday morning, and a programme was held in honour of the event.
The new facility is expected to help students, business people, tourists and government officers, among others.
