HUBBALLI: Hubballi has got a regional forensic science centre (RFSC), which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Located on Gokul Road in western Hubballi, the RFSC has been built at a cost of Rs 14 crore. It’s the only RFSC in Karnataka to have
DNA, cyber, mobile & audio video testing facilities. It will help solve crimes and generate forensic reports, which would result in faster charge sheets, trials and more convictions, said Praveen Sood, state police chief.
The RFSC in Hubballi will cover the districts of North and Central Karnataka. Before it, samples from crime scenes had to be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Bengaluru.
