HUBBALLI: A young man from Hubballi is gaining attention in the field of Event Management in Mumbai, which is the hub of all major events in the country.
25-year-old Iftekhar Ahmed Gudgeri, who has completed his studies of Event Management from NAEMD Mumbai, is a native of Hubballi.
Iftekhar is rising in popularity in Mumbai by successfully conducting big events. From big fat weddings to vehicle launch events, from religious and traditional events to international concerts, he is experiencing it all.
Speaking to Hubballi Times, Iftekhar said, “Every event has its own unique experience and each time you learn a different thing to handle a situation. Events are not just concerts or guiding people. It is a process of making a plan and executing it with ease. It includes celebrity management, logistics, box office, hospitality etc.”
He further said, “Event manager has to handle the tantrums of celebrities without damaging the schedule and take care of each visitor even if they’re rude, manage finance from the box office etc. There are various challenges and the most interesting thing is you’ll learn from the mistakes made in the previous events.”
When asked about the scope for event managers in Hubballi, Iftekhar said, “No doubt Hubballi is the fastest growing city in Karnataka. The aviation and hospitality sector is growing exponentially in Hubballi which can give more opportunities to event managers to make a good career here. For now the events in Hubballi happen only on festival seasons but soon it will become prone to more and more events like other developed cities.”
