113 Black Fungus Patients In Twin Cities

DHARWAD: As many as 113 persons infected with the black fungus are being treated in the hospitals in the twin cities.

According to a release issued by the district health officer, 92 patients are undergoing treatment at KIMS and 20 patients at SDM and one at Taluk hospital in Kundagol.   

Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil has said that the KIMS has so far received 290 vials of Amphotericin-B to treat black fungus patients, while 300 alternative anti-fungal tablets are also given. The district has 89 mucormycosis patients. The anti-fungal tablets are being given to private hospitals also, Patil said.
