BENGALURU: Amidst a sudden spike in the number of Covid positive cases in various parts of the state especially at schools and colleges, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh Monday said the Karnataka government will shut down schools and colleges and go back to online classes, if need arises.
Addressing mediapersons at Vidhana Soudha on Monday, December 6, 2021, the minister said the state government is not compromising on students’ health. Our top priority would be well-being of the kids. “If needed, we are ready to shut down schools,” he said.
The minister further said, “Until now there is no such fear and even parents need not panic. “If required we will stop exams. However, the Standard Operating Procedure is maintained very strictly in the exams because we make sitting arrangements maintaining physical distance,” minister Nagesh added.
