Hubballi, April 6:In a tragic incident, three persons including a policeman were killed after truck rammed them while clearing a road for traffic movement.
The trio were clearing the Anchatageri- Chalamatti cross road , after it was blocked by the tree branches that fell due to heavy rains..
The deceased are identified as constable Pandit Kasar of Kalaghatgi Police Staion, Shivalingappa Kalburgi and Hanumantappa Kalburgi of Gangiwal village.
While other constables Netaji S Wagh, Shankar Bevinamarad and locals Ravi Walikar, Siddappa Guddappanavar ahve been injured in the incident. All of them are being treated at KIMS Hubballi.
The three constables were clearing the road with the help of locals. The speeding truck hit the men at work and fled away. The three died in the spot. Rest were taken to hospital by the locals.
SP P Krishnakant, Police Commissioner Labhu Ram visited the hospital to enquired the health of injured. A case has been registered at Hubballi Rural Police Station.
