HUBBALLI: In a bid to see that the residents of Twin Cities are not inconvenienced due to the lockdown, the Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagara Palike (HDMP) has given permission for selling of vegetables, groceries, and fruits at the door-steps of the people.

During the lockdown, the government has prohibited weekly vegetable markets and the markets have been decentralized. Despite this, heavy rush were seen in front of the vegetable and grocery shops during the relaxation in the morning hours.

In order to control this rush, the HDMP has taken the initiative to make vendors deliver vegetables and groceries at the doorsteps of the citizens in morning hours.

HDMP Commissioner Suresh Itnal has said that more number of vendors would be included in the list, while discussion is also going on with super-markets like ‘More’ to take up home-delivery, he added.

The list of vegetable vendors and grocery sellers, who offer home delivery ward-wise, is available on www.hdmc.mrc.gov.in, and www.supportdharwad.in.

Those who want to order vegetables, groceries, meat and fruits can call them, and order material to be delivered to their home.
