Police Seize Gelatin, Detonator Near Kalghatgi

DHARWAD, JANUARY 24: The internal security division police who raided the crusher unit in Muttagi village of Kalghatgi taluk have seized gelatin sticks, detonators and other explosives that had been hoarded.

The police conducted the raid on the Shivachandran Stone and Crusher Plant, which is owned by Prema Patil, resident of Jayanagar in Dharwad, on Friday, under suspicion of hoarding at the plant. During inspection of the plant, the police found 234 gelatin sticks and 675 electronic detonators in polythene bags and cardboard boxes as well as a megger.

The Kalghatgi police also registered a case against Shivakumar Patil, who has been accused of hoarding the explosives.

Inspector Jayashri S Mane, assistant sub-inspector S M Hosamani, police staff A A Mirji, V B Mayannavar, A V Khanapura were part of the police team, said Internal Security Division (North) DySP Anil Kumar S Bhoomareddy.
