HUBBALLI, Sept 22: Activists of Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest in Kaulpet in Hubballi on Thursday against the raids conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on residences of offices of PFI in various locations.
The protesters, holding PFI flags, blocked the Pune-Bengaluru road in Kaulpet. They raised slogans like “Popular Front Zindabad, NIA barli ED barli-Hedralla navu Hedralla, NIA teri Karwai-RSS ki gulami hai”.
Later the police rushed to the spot and took more than 50 protesters into preventive custody to bring the situation into control. The police then cleared the way for vehicular movement.
