HUBBALLI, Oct 15 : Penalty has been imposed on Laxmi Gold Palace based on a complaint filed by a gold buyer Balkrishna Ijantkar of Hubballi.
According to a DH report, Balkrishna Ijantkar filed a complaint in the consumer forum alleging that the gold shop had denied giving him gold after taking money from him under the monthly gold scheme.
According to the complaint, Balkrisna had paid Rs 1.56 lakh from September 2019 to October, 2020, under the monthly gold scheme. “On maturity of the gold scheme, Laxmi Gold Palace of Hubballi had not given him gold and was harassing him mentally,” he said in his complaint.
The Dharwad district Consumer Forum, headed by retd judge Ishappa Bhute, verified the documents and ordered the Laxmi Gold Palace to give 45.709 gram 24 carat gold to the complainant, and pay a compensation of Rs 25,000, in addition to Rs 10,000 as court fee and for the mental torture given to the complainant.
