HUBBALLI: A railway over-bridge near Shirur in Kundgol taluk on the Laxmeshwar-Munavalli State Highway has got damaged just six to seven months after completion of the work.
On Sunday, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi inspected the bridge and said, the bridge is completely damaged just six to seven months after completion of the work. It is evident that the work is substandard, he added.
Expressing unhappiness over the quality of work, Joshi instructed the deputy commissioner to blacklist the contractor who had taken up the over-bridge work. Also to recover the amount spent for the work from the contractor.
“Submit a report in this regard to the State government, and hold the contractor and the then Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) officials responsible for the poor quality work,” Joshi instructed to DC.
