Legendry Singer Pankaj Udhas Dies

HUBBALLI, Feb 26: Ghazal singer and Padmashri  awardee Pankaj Udhas breathed his last due to prolonged illness around 11 am at the Breach Candy hospital.

His last rites will be held on February 27. Pankaj is survived by wife Farida Udhas, daughters Nayaab and Reva Udhas, and brothers Nirmal and Manhar Udhas, who are also singers.

His daughter Nayab Udhas wrote on Instagram, “” With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform of sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to prolonged illness.”

He was born on May 17, 1951, in Jetpur, Gujarat. He will be remembered for his evergreen ghazals such as “Chandani Raat Mein”, “Na Kajre Ki Dhaar”, “Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein”, “Ek Taraf Uska Ghar” and “Thodi Thodi Piya Karo” .
