Hubballi, April 12: After Pralhad Joshi, now the former CM and BJP leader Jagadish Shettar has condemned the Nuggekeri incident.
Destroying the watermelon shop is not right. Noone should take law into their hands, said Jagadish Shettar.
He also lambasted Congress leaders for their selective approach in dealing with such issues.
The Sri Ram Sene, a hindutva fringe group, had forcibly vacated Muslims’ shops at Nuggekeri Anjaneya Temple.
In the incident, the group had vandalized shop and destroyed the quintals of watermelon belonging to a aged Muslim vendor Nabisab Killedar.
The Sri Ram Sene act has drawn widespread condemnation from across the society.
