Renuka Sukumar is Police Commissioner of Hubballi-Dharwad
Strap: She is said to be first woman to occupy the post
HUBBALLI, August 09: For the first time, the Hubballi-Dharwad police commissionerate has got a woman police commissioner.
The state government on Wednesday issued an order appointing Renuka K. Sukumar as the Commissioner of Police, Hubballi-Dharwad City. Prior to this, Sukumar was the Deputy Commandant General, Home Guards & Ex officio Deputy Director of Civil Defense.
An IPS officer of the 2011 batch, Renuka previously worked as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Hubballi-Dharwad and was known as a tough cop.
