How Much KIMS Is Prepared To Treat Covid Patients: Congress Leaders Inquire

HUBBALLI: Amid rising Covid-19 cases, a delegation of Congress leaders Wednesday visited Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and inquired about the covid preparations.

The group, led by Congress City District President Altaf Hallur, met the KIMS officials to get the details of the preparations the hospital has made.

The delegation sought to know how many beds the institute has and how many of them are reserved for the Covid patients, oxygen arrangements, etc.

In response, Dr. Arun Kumar said that there are 2,000 beds, of which 1,500 are oxygen beds. Around 1000 beds are reserved for Covid patient. In addition, the new MCH building has 200 beds, and its third floor has 300 beds. The Vedanta makeshift hospital has 100 beds.

He further said, that the hospital has 40 KL of oxygen storage, three pressure swing adsorption oxygen generating plants.
