Heavy Rain Alert in Karnataka for Five More Days

Bengaluru,July 10: As heavy rains continue to disrupt normal life several districts of Coastal and Malnad region of Karnataka since 5 days, the weather department has issued an alert today of continuation of heavy rain for another 4 – 5 days.

Strong winds of south west monsoon may bring heavy rains further for 5 days – an alert given. Red Alert issued for 3 days to the districts of Coastal Karnataka and Orange alert for 3 days to South Interior Karnataka and Yellow for 5 days alert to North Interior Karnataka by IMD department.

Woman Killed as Roof Collapses in Kalaburagi :

A 60-year-old woman died after the roof and a portion of wall of her house collapsed due to heavy rains in Chittapur town of Kalaburagi district.

The deceased identified as Areefa Begum, seriously injured when roof of her collapsed while sleeping. She was admitted to local hospital, but she did not respond to the treatment. In this accident her husband and daughter left with minor injuries.
Chittapur police have registered the case.

Dharwad District Report: 99 houses partially damaged

Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, who is also the chairman of the district disaster management authority, has stated that 99 houses have been partially damaged in the district due to rains during the monsoon so far, while the work to disburse compensation is on.
