HUBBALLI, Sept 09: Jai Bharat Jana Seva Sangha of Dharwad district has urged the government to take measures to hand over the Eidgah Maidan at Chennamma Circle in Hubballi to Anjuman-e-Islam or Wakf Board.
Sangh president I M Torgal said that the present generation is maintaining harmony over the maidan issue. If activities of different religions are allowed at the Eidgah maidan, nothing can be said about the future generations. Therefore the land should be sold to Anjuman-e-Islam or Wakf Board at the market rate,” he added.
The Sangha would collect donations to contribute for the purchase of the land and a memorandum in this regard has already been submitted to the deputy commissioner, Torgal added.
