Gangraped MBA Student Critical, Boyfriend Records His Statement

A 23-year-old MBA student who was reportedly gangraped by unidentified miscreants is said to be critical. The incident had taken place on Tuesday night on the outskirts of Mysuru.

Background of the incident..

The woman, who was riding with her boyfriend, was on her way to Chamundi Hills when a group of four to five people waylaid them. At first, the gang allegedly tried to rob the couple, but later took the woman to another spot and sexually assaulted her.

According to a report, a senior police officer said the accused were drunk when they spotted the couple on an isolated route to Chamundi Hills. Initially, they allegedly demanded money from the couple, but later took the woman to another spot and sexually assaulted her. A case has been registered at the Alanahalli police station and efforts are being made to nab the accused, said a police officer.

The woman, who is a student of a private college, has been admitted in a Mysuru hospital. She is yet to give her statement to the police as she is critical.

Mysuru Police Commissioner Chandragupta has said that friend of the victim has recorded his statement and an FIR has been filed.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters in Delhi that he has directed the director general of police, Praveen Sood, to initiate steps to nab the culprits. Nobody has been arrested for the crime yet.
