IPS officer Vartika Katiyar, who was the superintendent of police, Dharwad, until October last year, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police of Uttara Kannada district. The State government issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.
A native of Uttar Pradesh, Katiyar is a 2010-batch IPS officer. She is the first woman Superintendent of Police of Uttara Kannada district.
Katiyar was serving as Superintendent of Police of State Crime Records Bureau in Bengaluru.
