DHARWAD: Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil on Wednesday issued an order prohibiting exhibitions, sale outlets and melas in the district due to Covid safety rules which are in place till July 19.
In a press release, DC Patil said, “Exhibitions and sale melas should not be organized at least till July 19. Later, the government would issue the new guidelines and the same would also be followed in the district.”
The New Crafts Silk India exhibition-cum-sale event was all set to begin at Gujarat Bhavan at Deshpande Nagar in Hubballi from Thursday, July 15. Patil stated that such programmes cannot be organised without the permission from the competent authority.
“If such events are conducted in the district, action would be taken against the organisers, and owners of halls where such events are allowed to take place,” he warned.
“At present, Covid situation is under control in the district. However, businessmen, public, and consumers should not organise events where crowding takes place. All should try to prevent the possible third wave of Covid-19, by following Covid-appropriate behaviour,” DC Nitesh Patil added.
