Electricity Tariff Down in Karnataka. Effective from April 1

HUBBALLI, April 1: The Karnataka electricity Regulatory Commission has reduced power tariffs across the State, effective from Monday, April 1, 2024.

The tariff reduction would benefit commercial, industrial, and domestic consumers across the state.

With this, domestic consumers will pay Rs 5.90 per unit instead of Rs 7 from April 1. There will be no changes for those getting zero bills under the Gruha Jyothi scheme.

According to the KERC order, which was released on its website, said “LT domestic lighting energy charges reduced by 110 paise per unit for consumption above 100 units.”

High Tension, LT, Commercial and Industries

For HT commercial consumers, the energy charges have been reduced by ₹1.25 paise per unit and ₹10 per kVA (kilowatt) for commercial users. Those industries that use HT connections would get reduction by 50 paise per unit. Demand charges have been reduced by ₹10 per KVA.
