Education Minister Announces Full-Time Classes For 6th Standard & Above

Bengaluru, February 16: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar has said that full-time classes will begin on February 22 for students in Class 6 and above.

The minister was addressing a press conference in the city, and clarified that attendance was not compulsory.

Some changes were still being made in Bengaluru city and near the Kerala border. The classes will begin only for students of Class 8 and above, he said and added that all students and teachers coming from Kerala must undergo Covid test. They will be permitted to attend class only if the test report shows negative.

Arrangements to conduct the classes will be made based on the availability of classrooms in schools and the number of students attending classes, he added.

Speaking on the Vidyagama scheme for students from Class 1 to 5, Suresh Kumar said that the decision will be taken soon.
