Dharwad Witnesses Fourth Murder in Four Days

DHARWAD, Feb 08 : Dharwad, popularly known as the Vidyakashi of Karnataka, is rattled by a series of murders taking place in the City.

In the fourth murder in a span of four days, a cook of Vimal Hotel in Bhovi Galli near Sangam Circle in Dharwad has been hacked to death in early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Fakeerappa, a resident of Suganalli in Shirahatti taluk of Gadag district.

Kanhaiappa, a supplier in the same hotel, allegedly indulged in a quarrel with Fakkiresh and hit him with an iron rod. A seriously injured Fakkiresh succumbed to the injuries on the spot, the police said.

While the first three murders were in Vidyagiri Police station limits, the fourth one was in Dharwad Town Police Station limits.

3 Other Murders:

It may be recalled here that a youth was murdered in Ambedkar Colony on Saturday night, while another youth was assaulted on Sunday night near Om Ashram, and he died on Monday.

A woman was murdered near Vithoba Temple in Navalur on Tuesday morning.
