Dharwad,May 11: ‘Dharma’ is losing respect because of mixing politics into it, said Sri Veerasomeshwar Shivacharya of Balehonnur Rambhapuri Peeta.
Addressing media persons here, he held politicians responsible for the religious conflicts. ‘A few politicians making one community to revolt against others’, he said.
A few politicians for their own mileage have been instigating one community to revolt against another, which has led to religious conflict, he said. Interference of politics into religion is creating unrest, he added.
He also stated that Karnataka has been a peace-loving place, wherein there were no such conflicts in past. He appealed to people of all communities not to fall prey for those tricks.
Swamiji also called upon people of different faiths not to subscribe politics of hatred. People must practice religious tolerance, he said.
