City Doctor To Be Medical Officer For Football World Cup Matches
DHARWAD: Dharwad-based orthopedic Dr Kiran Kulkarni, who is also a well-known sports medicine consultant, has been chosen for the Qatar Football World Cup-2022 pre-qualifiers match scheduled for October 7 and 12.
Dr. Kulkarni is the only medical officer from India who has been appointed by the Federation Internationale de Football Association for the Qatar Football World Cup-2022. He will oversee the match between Iraq and Lebanon in Doha Qatar on October 7, and between Iran and South Korea in Tehran on October 12.
It would be Dr. Kulkarni’s duty to oversee medical issues and check medical aspects of players, staff and others. He would also ensure proper implementation of the anti-doping programme.
