HUBBALLI TIMES NEWS DESK

HUBBALLI: Officials from the Department of Legal Metrology conducted inspections in the city’s drug stores on Saturday after they received complaints of selling oximeters and other medical equipment at exorbitant prices.

Cases have been filed against five medical shops that allegedly kept oximeters for sale without printing the specific information following the Legal Metrology Act.

During the inspection, all shopkeepers were informed about the rules and warned that action would be taken if they sale equipment at a price higher than the prescribed one.

Officials said that inspections would be carried out on a regular basis.

District Assistant Controller Madhukar Ghodke, Siddappa Poojar, and other staff were present.
