HUBBALLI: The Anti-Corruption Bureau authorities caught a Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation bill collector red-handed while receiving a bribe on Tuesday.
According to reports, bill collector Shankar Ashok Ghodke was receiving a bribe of Rs 75,000 to conduct an assessment of the plot at Gabbur village.
The ACB reportedly came into action based on a complaint filed by Hazarat Ali Mulla of Jannath Nagar. Shankar Ashok Ghodke had demanded Rs 1.85 lakh bribe for assessing an ‘Akrama-Sakrama Plots in the HDMC limits.
A team of officials led by BA Jadav laid a trap and arrested Ghodke red-handed at a tea shop while taking the bribe.
A case has been registered.
