8 Minor Girls Rescued From Marriages In Dharwad Dist

DHARWAD: Authorities of Child Protection wing rescued eight girls by thwarting child marriages in Dharwad district in last two weeks.
According to a report, the officers have prevented child marriages being organised at various villages of Dharwad district, including Kiresur, Amargol, Unkal, Chavrgudd, Mangundi, Durgadkeri, Hosategur, Karadigudda, and at Madakihonnalli.
Based on the specific information, the officers conducted raids and rescued the girls. The parents had arranged the marriage of their minor daughters.
All the rescued girls have been sent to rehabilitation center for counselling while notices were issued to the parents to appear before the officials.
