Shiggavi,July 2: Police have arrested 3 persons for allegedly assaulting and robbing by stopping the Lorries on national highway.
Superintendent of Police K. Hanumantaraya said – In a team of 5 robbers of which one is already imprisoned, three arrested and investigation for the other is on. The arrested are – Vinod parashuram Gudihal, Saikumar Govindswwamy Tirumaleand Gunda Manjunath Hulagi , all 3 are residents of settlement area in Hubballi according to police.
On March 29, a truck carrying onions was proceeding to Mandya from Hubballi APMC and was halted because of fuel near Ambuja factory when the lorry driver Bharat Yallappa Bhajantri was assaulted and robbed, lost 2 mobile phones and 11,000 rupees cash. A special investigation squad was formed based on the complaint lodged by the lorry driver.
“There are many such robbery incidents happening on national highway but they are not highlighted because of not complained to the police. Immediate complaints of such road robberies will help us to arrest and take action against the criminals “– He said.
