At a time when the world is waging war against the COVID pandemic, the recovery of 107-year-old woman from the virus gives hope.
Kaallamma (107), a native of Yannur village in Chikkaballapur district, was admitted to Apollo Sheshadripuram where her son, Dr V Shankar, treated her; reports DH.
Dr. Shankar said that Kaallamma spent 10 days in ICU and 10 more in the ward. “She was on simple medication and oxygen for two weeks. My mother had no other comorbid conditions.”
“IV nutrition supplements, antibiotics, and simple Fabiflu tablets, the only antiviral drug we have used. I feel her immunity is good,” Dr. Shankar added.
Kaallamma was discharged on Monday. She has eight children and 43 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
