HUBBALLI: A youth was severely injured when he was brutally assaulted with a lethal weapon at Gardenpet area near Old Hubballi here on Friday evening.
The injured has been identified as Mohammad Sadiq.
It has been learnt that Sadiq was assaulted with a lethal weapon allegedly by his cousin. Consequently, Sadiq suffered severe head injury. According to locals, one of the fingers of the victim was also cut in the incident.
The injured youth has been rushed to the KIMS hospital for the treatment.
More information about the incident and reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.
Ghantikeri police have registered a case in this regard and launched the investigation.
